Health technology company - Hyperfine is working with Silicon Valley technology company NVIDIA to dive into NVIDIA’s artificial intelligence (AI) and fast processing capabilities to extend Hyperfine’s portable imaging technology, the Swoop system. The AI-capable portable magnetic resonance (MR) technology is beginning to be used at the point-of-care to meet healthcare needs that traditional MRI systems have not solved.

The Swoop system is capable of producing images that display the internal structures of a person’s head. Hyperfine and NVIDIA's collaboration will center on enabling AI-driven image reconstruction, beyond superior image quality, and integrating real-time clinical decision support into point-of-care portable MRI workflows.

Using NVIDIA’s training and inference capabilities such as NVIDIA DALI and MONAI, the partnership is aiming to augment the Swoop system's imaging quality, lower duration of scans, and create the emergence of rapid reliably diagnostic, diagnostic imaging. In February, Nvidia also announced a partnership with the Arc Institute and Stanford University to deliver a newly available foundation model, Evo 2, for interpretating the understanding of the genetic code for all life forms.

"Our mission is to make portable brain imaging faster, more intelligent, and increasingly accessible, ultimately improving health outcomes and reducing costs globally," Maria Sainz, president and CEO of Hyperfine, said in a statement.

"Partnering with NVIDIA presents an incredible opportunity to advance and accelerate our AI technology. I’m thrilled about the possibilities this collaboration brings for the future."
